Admission Requirements
The University Scholars Program has selective, competitive admissions.
Only the most academically gifted students are selected each year for
participation.
Minimum requirements for entering freshmen: a score of 26 on the ACT or
1800 on the SAT (all 3 parts) and a high school GPA of 3.3 on a 4.0
scale.
Interested students not meeting the requirements should contact the Dean
of University Honors Programs regarding alternative admissions criteria.
Student must be fully admitted to Florida Atlantic University to
participate in the University Scholars Program.
Application Process:
Students interested
in applying for the University Scholars Program may apply online on the
website (see below) or request a paper application. Applicants
must also submit the following items:
WRITING SAMPLE
This is a typed
assignment of at least 500 words written for a recent class. The
original work with grade and teacher's comments must be submitted.
The writing sample is expected to be an academic paper, not a piece of
creative writing.
LETTERS OF RECOMMENDATION
All applicants are
required to have two letters of recommendation sent from teachers,
counselors or other significant people able to speak to the applicant's
past performance and ability to succeed in the University Scholars
Program. The letters should include the writer's name, address,
phone number and relationship to the applicant. Address all letter
to the Honors Admissions Office.

any school or community awards, citations or recognition of
achievements you have received.
